
Record Spring Temperatures
Utah is experiencing a historically warm spring, followed by a record-dry winter that severely impacted snowpack. Peak snow water equivalent (SWE) occurred prematurely on March 9 at only 8.4 inches, half of the typical seasonal peak!
March 2026 was ranked as the warmest ever recorded. Salt Lake City reached 84 degrees on March 21 (warmest since at least 1874) Â These extreme conditions has prompted concerns about water resources and use.
