Sustainability Education & Outreach Intern

The ideal candidate is a talented and enthusiastic individual that is looking to work in a collaborative environment.  Developing new skills and gaining insight into their career goals.  The main objective of this internship is to educate and encourage clients and the broader public about sustainability as it relates to Xeriscape.
​Contributing to projects that support our three values (Conservation – Cultivation – Co-habitation).  Interns will have the opportunity to research policies and regulations and how it affects the environment both locally and globally.  Conduct research regarding how Xeriscape and water conservation are related,

Job Description:

  • Seek out opportunities to inform the public about the services we can offer. (tabling, conferences, expos, etc)
  • Analyzing, recommend changes, and develop creative outreach material to promote sustainability.
  • Assists with all aspects of marketing and outreach related to companies three values.
  • Intern may undertake a research project outside of everyday operations of the business.
  • Tasks as assigned and as based on student’s background, academic goals, and interests.
  • Help develop and expand the companies “Conservation education webpage”, social media reach, and quarterly newsletter.

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate college student interested in water resource policy, sustainable urbanism, and habitat.
  • Strong interest in community engagement.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent multi-tasker, organized and flexible
  • Reliable and punctual.
  • Strong interest in learning on the job
  • Works well both independently and with others
